We are pleased to announce that setec serige has played a key role in the technical design studies for Gulf Air’s new MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) facility, located within the airline’s hub at Manama International Airport in Bahrain.
On July 25, 2024 📆, Gulf Air officially unveiled its plan for a state‑of‑the‑art hangar covering more than 20,000 m², including workshops, storage areas, office spaces, and a dedicated aircraft parking apron. This new infrastructure aims to elevate maintenance operations to the highest international standards, integrating innovative technologies in aeronautical engineering, automation, and sustainability.
As part of this ambitious project, setec serige conducted the full multi‑disciplinary design studies, bringing its technical expertise to develop a functional and high‑performance facility capable of accommodating Gulf Air’s fleet (A320 family and Boeing 787) as well as third‑party customers.
This new MRO site will enable Gulf Air to internalize heavy maintenance operations (C‑checks), improve aircraft availability, reduce continuity‑of‑service costs, and enhance its regional technical capabilities. Planned to be operational within 18 to 24 months after the start of construction, the project will also contribute to developing local expertise by training specialized technicians and engineers.
